STORYTELLING

SEMI- CONTROLLED STORYTELLING

In this section of the website, you will have the opportunity to share your ideas and experiences through storytelling.  It's important that you take into account that this is an advanced narrative, hence, it´s a requirement to begin this part after experiencing the previous section: Semi-controlled Storytelling.

CHARACTERS

In order to start your story, it is very important to define your main characters. Fortunately we have several characters in our gallery. They have been organized in six categories: Native people, Afro-descendant, Colombian legends, Everyday people, Cali Viejo, and Athletes.

PLACES

Once you have decided what characters are going to be included in your story, you must choose the setting: the place where the story will be developed. For this purpose, we have also included a gallery full of places which are very popular in Cali. For instance, Jovita, La Loma de San Antonio, La Ermita, among others.

You will have a graphical reference to describe the places. It is important to observe colours, details, buildings, landscapes... Also use your imagination to play with the other senses, how that place would smell?, what would you hear over there?, What would you feel by touching the grass, a wall, the floor, a tree?

TIME
DESCRIPTIONS

Finally, after having set your characters and the places, it is a key element to select the time your story.

For these descriptions, you have the Grammar Notes section which contains an expanded chapter on that topic. It explains how to use adjectives, the correct order to use them, some examples and a full list that you can use to describe your characters and the places you have chosen to tell your story.

CHARACTERS

These characters have been designed exclusively for helping you in the creation of your story. That is to say, we have taken into account real people who are usually included in the Colombian context. This, so you can feel more identified with the story you are about to write.  In this part, you will have the experience of seeing designs based on people you see everyday on the street, in the MIO...Also, famous people from different fields, as the discipline of sports or the academic field.
